Smoke Detector

Smoke Detector

A conventional Smoke Detector is an efficient part of any fire protection system, used at home,
any commercial or industrial organization, and in all workplaces. The detector is connected to a
fire alarm control panel and as it senses the presence of smoke, it sends signals to warn people
of the presence of fire. One drawback; many false alarms may occur due to the occurring dust.

Types of Smoke Detectors:

  • Optical Smoke Detector: Also known as Photoelectric Smoke Detector, it is a powerful detector that senses the sudden entrance of smoke through light scattering. It detects fire fast enough before it breaks into uncontrollable flames.
  • Ionization Smoke Detector: The principle of this smoke detector is that it houses radioactive particles between electrically-charged plates. This causes the ionization of the inside air, allowing current to flow. When smoke enters this chamber, it interrupts the ions and the flow of current, triggering the smoke detector

Benefits:

  • Easy to install
  • Compatible with any home or enterprise
  • Quick indication of smoke
  • High reliability
  • Sensing smoke before it is even visible
  • Detection of low-energy fires
